Jefferson County has a litter problem. Litter on our roadsides gets swept into our creeks and streams and into our drinking water sources and fragile plant and animal habitats.
You can make a difference. Here’s How:
- Get smart about litter — read the facts and know what is litter and what is not. Be informed and stop littering.
- Buy a t-shirt — the shirts are cool and the proceeds go to help prevent litter. You’ll inspire others to clean up their acts.
- Check out our clean up events — see where you can go to help clean up litter in your neighborhood.
- Make the Pledge — agree that you won’t litter and won’t put up with people who do.
Litter lands on the roadside and washes into Jefferson and Shelby County’s streams and rivers.
Don’t throw out what you don’t want to drink later.
